Former Disney Employee Was Behind The Hacking Of The Theme Park’s Menu System

A former Walt Disney World employee is accused of hacking the theme park’s menu system to add profanity and alter allergen information after his termination in June 2024.

According to the FBI, Scheuer allegedly used his knowledge of Disney’s systems to disrupt the company’s proprietary menu creation system by altering fonts to symbols, rendering menus unusable, and manipulating allergen information, which posed a potential risk to customers.

Scheuer also reportedly launched denial of service attacks against employee accounts and created a fictitious user account to maintain unauthorised access.
