This month, I want to highlight the significance of Insider Threat Awareness on a global scale—an initiative that has been well established in the USA but is equally critical for our region, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India and beyond

Insider threats don’t respect borders or boundaries. They are a global challenge that affects government and industry alike. That’s why I’m advocating for the introduction of a Global Insider Threat Awareness Month right here in our region.

This month-long campaign is essential. It serves to educate and raise awareness about the risks posed by insider threats and the vital role Insider Threat programs play in preventing, detecting, deterring, and responding to these dangers.

By safeguarding our organisations and nations through proactive measures, we contribute to a more secure and resilient global community. The need for such awareness here in our region cannot be overstated.

Let’s take this opportunity to lead, to educate, and to protect our interests by bringing Insider Threat Awareness to the forefront in Australia and beyond.
