Australian Human Rights Commission Leaks Attachments From Webforms

The Australian Human Rights Commission suffered a data breach after a technical misconfiguration exposed around 670 documents submitted via its website.

About 100 of these were accessed online and included sensitive personal information from complaints and community projects.

The breach occurred between October 2021 and April 2025. AHRC has since disabled the affected forms, launched an investigation, and is contacting impacted individuals.
